Lazy Oaf team up with DC Comics to celebrate the release of The Dark Knight Rises with this insane collection.

Those who read the blog regularly know I have a penchant for nearly all things comic book and super hero orientated (please see here and here). So it comes as no surprise that when a collection like this one encompasses fashion, comic books and superheroes it quite literally compels me to ramble on about it online (YOU’RE WELCOME).

The trouble with collections like this is they have a tendency to come off a little juvenile or in the worst case scenario just tacky and redundant. Lazy Oaf throws all of that out the window by being laid back enough to have fun and playfully mix sex with geekyness, basically making these pieces the garment equivalents of Adam Brody.

The collection released today comprises of a number of looks, my favourite of which are pictured above. The Women’s lookbook features repeat Batman logo print pattern on a body suit, leggings, body-con dress and Victoria shirt. It also features a sheer bat crop top (my personal fave) with a flock finish, the classic oversized women’s t-shirt and a bat wing dress inspired by Batgirl. I won’t blather on about the mens which is a 14 piece (not as sexy) strong collection

SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD

Out August 13th with Video Game release soon after. I think I just wet myself.

Staring Michael Cera and a whole host of awesome. The gist can be gained and is all explained in my post below and also by the following phrases…

OMGZ

FUCKING HELL

IMMENSE

MY PANTIES ARE A TAD MOIST WITH GLEE

MARRY ME MICHAEL CERA.

As you know, I’m an avid reader… Recently I realised (please see 1st post) that I take period novels far too seriously. Fast spiralling out of control, my mind is beginning to take a turn for the worst as it desperately searches for a world where chivalry, manners and dramatic displays of love are common place in affairs of the heart… I live in the 21st century and hang around with ‘urban’ trendies… Jane Austen, Henry James and Thomas Hardy are NOT common place here. To ensure I don’t ruin my life perspectives since my joke about becoming a post modern version of Dickens’ Miss Haversham is actually making me jaded in real life, I figured it was about time for a change in literature. COMICS!
I’ve appointed the coolest geek I know as my mentor for my first jaunt (excluding the comics I read when I was younger) into the comic book world; as advised by him, I’ve been directed straight to the Scott Pilgrim Volumes, a comic bookseries by Bryan Lee O’Malley intended to consist of 6 volumes.
Brief synopsis: Scott is a 23 year old scrub; he plays bass guitar for an OK band (Sex Bob-Om) and is hung up on an ex girlfriend and dating a 17 year old knife wielding love sick maniac… till he meets Romona Flowers in subspace. He later on pulls a fiery sword out of his chest in a bid to defeat one of her 7 evil exes, exes who all have to be defeated before he can date her. Confused? good, it’s incredible.
Unpredictable, amusing and peppered with immense black and white animation throughout, if you’re after a change from your comfort zone I’d pick up Scott Pilgrim, it will surprisingly keep you glued with tactful cliff hangers that keep you salivating for the next installment. Book 6 and the last- Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour is set to be released July 20! CAN. NOT. WAIT.
